This policy covers the iOS app 1 in 8 Billion: Born at Random and the website 1in8billionlife.app. It explains how the app’s developer handles information. For questions or privacy requests, email contact@1in8billionlife.app.
1. Information in the app
The app does not require an account or ask you to provide personal information. It does not include advertising, analytics SDKs, or advertising trackers, and it does not send your game progress to a developer-operated server.
Names, birthplaces, family members, and events in a simulated life are game content. A character’s birthplace is chosen by the simulation; it is not determined from your device’s location.
2. Game saves and settings
Your current life, saved lives, achievements, progress, and settings are stored locally on your device so you can continue playing. We cannot retrieve or restore these local saves for you.
You can delete individual saved lives from the Album. Deleting the app removes its local app data. Offloading an app may preserve its data, so use the device’s delete option if you want to remove it.
Depending on your device settings, Apple’s iCloud Backup or a computer backup may contain app data. Backups are separate from the app’s local storage and may remain after you delete the app. You can manage them through Apple’s settings and tools. See what iCloud backs up.
3. Sharing a life
Sharing is optional. When you select “Share life,” the app creates an image of your simulated life and opens the system share sheet. The image is then handled by the destination you choose, such as a messaging or social app. That service’s privacy policy applies to information you share with it.
4. Visiting this website
We do not add advertising trackers, analytics scripts, or cookies to this website, and it has no account registration or contact form.
Cloudflare provides the website’s hosting, delivery, and security. To deliver pages and protect the service, Cloudflare may process technical information such as your IP address, request and traffic data, and system configuration information. Its security features may use essential cookies when needed. This processing is separate from gameplay on your device. You can read more in Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
5. Contacting us
If you email us, we receive your email address, your message, and any information or attachments you choose to send. We use that information to respond, troubleshoot issues, and handle your request. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information that is not needed to explain the problem.
Our email service providers process correspondence as needed to deliver and store it. We keep support messages only for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve your request, maintain relevant support records, or meet legal obligations. You can ask us to delete correspondence by emailing contact@1in8billionlife.app.
6. Other services and disclosures
Following an App Store link, downloading the app, using Apple services, or opening another external link is subject to the relevant provider’s policies. Apple may process information for its own services according to your settings. See Apple’s privacy information.
We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. Information you send us may be disclosed to service providers that help us operate support, or when disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect legal rights and the security of our services. Providers may process information in countries other than your own.
7. Your choices and rights
You control whether to share a life, contact support, or retain local saves and backups. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information we hold, to object to or restrict certain processing, or to raise a concern with your local data protection authority.
To make a request, email contact@1in8billionlife.app. We may need enough information to verify the request. We cannot access or delete game saves held only on your device or in backups you control.
8. Children’s privacy
The app does not ask players to provide personal information, regardless of age. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us through support email, please contact us so we can review the message and arrange appropriate deletion.
9. Changes to this policy
If the app or website changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and its date. Where applicable, we will provide any additional notice required for a material change.
